Spring Roundup Recap
Last week we had the pleasure of being a primary sponsor for the Spring Roundup Rodeo at the Sunbowl here in downtown St. George.
The Sunbowl is a venue with a long tradition of hosting rodeos. The annual Dixie Roundup Rodeo has been held in this storied arena each fall for almost a century.
To complement this annual event, the Spring Roundup offers cowboys and cowgirls a chance to show their talents more frequently. It’s a fitting event as historically, every spring local cattlemen would round up their herds and drive them up to the higher elevations to escape the heat of southern Utah. And it perfectly complements the Dixie Roundup, held each September when cattlemen would traditionally round up their herds and return them to lower elevations to escape the winter snows.
We asked our event photographer, Bob Methaney, to share some of his favorite pics from the rodeo for us to post here on our blog, but if you’d like to see a whole lot more of the images on Bob’s website go to LensTrek Photography Spring Round-up Rodeo.
